The basket shown used two reels of Hooked Zpagetti, other t shirt yarns could be substituted.
You will also need a 12mm crochet hook and a needle and cotton to sew in the ends (weaving them in will do, but for security I stitch mine on the wrong side). A stitch marker is helpful to mark end of rounds.

The basket is worked in spirals, at the end of each round, do not turn and do not join with a slip stitch.
With 12mm hook and chosen yarn make 6 ch, join to make a ring.
Round 1: 6 dc into ring. 6 dc
Round 2: (2 dc in each dc) 6 times. 12 dc
Round 3: (1 dc, 2 dc in next stitch) 6 times. 18 dc
Round 4: (2 dc, 2 dc in next st) 6 times. 24 dc
Round 5: (3 dc, 2 dc in next st) 6 times. 30 dc
Round 6: (4 dc, 2 dc in next st) 6 times. 36 dc
Round 7: 1 dcblo in each dc.
Round 8: (4 dc, dc2tog) 6 times) 30 dc
Round 9 onwards: 1 dc in each dc around until sides measure 24cm.
Fasten off. Sew in ends using needle and cotton.
